Michael Alain V. Suba

Business Cluster Head

“I don’t have 100% Filipino blood because I’m half Filipino, half Filipina.” A fierce statement made by one fierce BC Cluster Head Mico Suba. With his unyielding confidence and sense of humor, Mico has impeccable people skills and can relate to a wide range of personalities. These show when he works with people. Though he can be very strict when it comes to work, he makes sure that his colleagues don’t feel the burden by scattering jokes during the stressful times.

When asked what he can offer to COA this year, he gave one big “KAGANDAHAN. Kagandahang pagseserbisyo sa Ateneo orgs lalo na sa Business Cluster.”

Michelle D. Cruz

Business Cluster Secretary-Treasurer

Teased by the CB as being COA’s own Georgina Wilson, a double major in Management and Psychology, and was part of the Badminton National Team back in her high school days, Michelle possesses the deadly trio – beauty, brains and brawn. Her “perfect girl” status might intimidate some people, but don’t worry, she’s jeje at heart!

Yes, this year’s BC Sec-Treas, with her fierceness and inner jejemon, will surely take the Business orgs to where they want to be and make sure they have every step of the way.

Dominique B. Manahan

Faith Formation Cluster Head

A “faithfully naughty” girl, Dom Manahan may seem like a walking paradox when really, all she’s doing is breaking a stereotype. Confident and definitely passionate of her faith, she inspires people in one way or another but that doesn’t mean she’s all pray and no play for this party girl sure knows how to have fun, be it with kids in area insertions or chilling out with her friends.

For FFC Cluster Head Dom, having a connection with God and having a connection with the actual world is not a balancing act but rather a complementary pair that when utilized well, can give a deeper, richer view of the world, “This blessing […] has definitely opened my eyes and heart to how beautiful our organization life is here in the Ateneo, and that is what motivates me to give the best of myself in every moment.”

Stefani Nicole D. Alcantar

Faith Formation Cluster Secretary-Treasurer

“I’m a Management major handling Faith Formation orgs but I want to be a diplomat,” says FFC Sec-Treas Nikki Alcantar, showing her deep interest in different fields. Though this seems conflicting, Nikki handles it with grace, perfecting her balancing act which also includes her love of photography.

And when she’s not out immersing herself in her interests, she’s usually chilling in the COA room (or more commonly known as the COArto) where she’s known as the food machine, her bag never failing to carry some sort of food or another, as she shares her edible treasures with the COArto tambays.

Surely, Nikki will be able to transmit her enthusiasm for diversity and her love of giving to the FFC orgs, enabling its every member have a chance to “an awesome FFC experience”.

Eljohn C. Yee

Health and Environment Cluster Head

When you say Eljohn, you think of a hard-working kid, always passing his homeworks on time. Yes, he might have a high QPI and may seem a little nerdy but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have the guts and the spunk that is needed to lead the Health and Environment Cluster. One thing about Eljohn Yee is that he gives his hundred percent best whenever he commits to something. He’s always striving to be Magis not only in his acads but also in his orgs.

As this year’s HEC Cluster Head, he’s surely the man for the job to lead the four zealous organizations striving towards a better, healthier world. And typically, when asked what COA can expect from him this year, Eljohn answered, “a hearty and healthy fun.”

Mica C. Araya

Health and Environment Cluster Secretary-Treasurer

Mikee might seem like a shy girl at first, staying quiet, keeping a polite smile on her face but a few conversations with her and she’d have you talking animatedly with her about absolutely anything. Her strike-from-behind exuberance goes smoothly with her leading the colors-stricken HEC organizations towards their advocacy. When asked what COA can expect from her this year, she replied “lots of love and one HEC of a year!”

Ramon Theodore A. De Guzman

Inter-Cultural Relations Cluster Head

Ramon De Guzman being the Inter-Cultural Relations Cluster Head isn’t at all a shock to those who know him. Being active in different ICR organizations for some time now, Ramon lives what he advocates and not just through his course. “Proud Girls’ Generation Fan,” he labeled himself, referring to the nine-member South Korean girl group that’s been snatching the hearts of boys all over the world.

So, what can COA expect from Ramon this year? “My Gee Gee Gee Self.” With his quirky comments and his love for the diversity of cultures, the ICR cluster will surely thrive in Ramon’s hands.

Jan Christopher L. Quing

Inter-Cultural Relations Cluster Secretary-Treasurer

Like most awkwardly tall guys in the world, Jan Christopher Quing can eat a whole rhinoceros and not gain a pound. Unlike most awkwardly tall guys in the world, he isn’t awkwardly quiet. Quite far from it actually.

The very embodiment of what ICR is, he’s known as The Great Wall Climber. “I’m Filipino-Chinese and I do not have a ‘great wall’. Booyeah.”  What this means is that he’s “climbing over” the tradition of Chinese only dating fellow Chinese. He’s breaking a stereotype and is damn proud of it.

This year, the ICR orgs can bet they’ll have one diversity-loving, barrier-breaking, wall-climbing ICR Sec-Treas to support and sustain their advocacies of inter-cultural relations.

Ryan Fidel “O.R.” A. Rojo

Issue and Policy Analysis Cluster Head

Ryan is that guy who always posts cheesy but really touching love quotes that everyone bashes for being so cheesy but ‘likes’ it anyway because they’re (secretly) cheesy, too.

True to his position, IPA Cluster Head Ryan Rojo fights for what he thinks is right and never feels ashamed in declaring them in public (or via facebook stats). He might throw a really sappy line here and there, and cause a scandal or two, but when it’s time to get serious, he gets serious. He’s passionate about his work and he loves the IPA cluster. The IPA orgs are in no doubt safe in the hands of Ryan.

And about his name, “The ‘O.R.’ is part of my first name. Since I first went to school, most of my profs and teachers ask me what it means every first day of classes.” And it still remains a mystery!

Xavier Roel Q. Alvaran

Issue and Policy Analysis Cluster Secretary-Treasurer

“If I had the chance, I’d go to Pandora and defend the rights of the Na’vi people against injustice!” exclaimed IPA Sec-Treas Xave, exhibiting his rather out-of-this world view of ultimate world peace – a re-enacting of Avatar.

Teased as Jamal Malik from Slumdog Millionaire, Xave may seem shy at first, but as you could see from his opening statement, that’s not the case at all. He is as passionate as he is smooth when it comes to talking to the ladies. With his childlike humor and creativity paired with his will and passion to serve, IPA is sure to wear its colors more brightly and step a little closer to their dream worlds.

Rose Nikki V. Jurado

Media and the Creative Arts Cluster Head

From capturing faultless photographs to playing melodic music (though often finds fierce objection from friends when trying to convince them with the beauty of her voice) – this year’s MCA Cluster Head, Nikki Jurado is no short of the word ‘creative’. “I eat crayons for breakfast,” she declares, a proclamation proven to be a consistent truth as this creative monster charges with confidence and coolness, intensifying her cluster’s understanding and passion for their arts while imparting “creative briefs” of her own.

With Nikki on the team, there’s no doubt of a colorful COA, ready to taint the awaiting blank canvas of this school year. She’ll make sure it’s a masterpiece.

Ara Jamela Cristia Z. Cabalonga

Media and the Creative Arts Cluster Secretary-Treasurer

Talking excitedly, laughing wildly and doing hand gestures animatedly, from afar it seems MCA Sec-Treas Ara Cabalonga is a little bolt of lightning – just a glimpse of it and you find yourself jolt a little. Her energy and cheerfulness radiates and is so infectious that you can’t help but be just even a little bit affected. But though she may seem like the live-in-the-moment type of person, she’s actually quite OC. “I go crazy without my planner!”

Ara’s combination of combustion and composure perfectly fits her job title but she knows it’s most importantly about compassion. When asked what she can offer to the council this year, she enthusiastically answered, “PUSO!”

Eleanor Louise T. Kawsek

Performing Arts Cluster Head

Being the PACisama project head, El Kawsek had her first encounter with COA and the Performing Arts Cluster last year. Ever since that fateful day, she had slowly built a road that would lead her to a life dedicated to serving those who share her vision and passion.

A year and a job title later, now known as “PAC Mom,” the PAC Cluster Head always makes sure that her cluster is well taken care of and oversees that all her orgs are having a PAC-ing good time! But most of all, El makes sure that the PAC orgs are given the exposure they deserve. “By the end of the year, everyone will know of PAC and the PAC orgs.”

Gabrielle Anne E. Calma

Performing Arts Cluster Secretary-Treasurer

There are two things that Gabbey lives for: acting and the Performing Arts Cluster. She is fiercely passionate about those two things that it’s almost scary. The good kind of scary, mind you. The same kind of scary fierceness that she’ll give this year’s PAC orgs that extra umph. “I’ll help COA PAC ’til they drop!” But Gabbey isn’t just full of fierceness, she’s has a ton of tickles too, “I’m ticklish in every part of my body…as in EVERY PART FROM HEAD TO TOE.

But most of all, above her fiery flare and her extreme ticklishness, Gabbey has a soft heart, something that echoes through her acting and her love for PAC.

Meryl Monericke M. Aquino

Science and Technology Cluster Head

Laughing with a weird laugh and singing her heart out (she’s a Bukas Palad singer), Meryl Aquino is just one big bubble of cuteness! Being the ACheS president last year, she’d always contribute valuable insights that proved helpful for the CB. This year, she’s stepped up and took the position of STC Cluster Head, a step closer to helping a bigger scope of STC org members with bigger impact, strumming her “love for both organizations and the sciences”. With her banner as “Chemistry is my purpose. Music is my life,” Meryl will definitely fill the STC orgs’ advocacies with melodic notes of service and passion.

EJ Rannel Christian D. Manalang

Science and Technology Cluster Secretary-Treasurer

EJ Manalang was born on Christmas day, is a Bataan native and has a tendency of being extra friendly to girls. Yet the most he’s known for is his love for Mathematics (he has an invisible relationship with it). And with this passion, he has taken up the position of STC Sec-Treas, giving a voice to his fellow lovers of logic and science.

What can COA expect from EJ this year? “The LIMIT of my love and passion for COA DOES NOT and WILL NEVER EXIST.”

David Bryan C. Lozada

Sector-Based Cluster Head

David always deals with things head-on, never backs down on a challenge and knows how to get what he wants. Sounds intimidating? Not really! Though he may have spunk that gets the job done, it’s his biboness that gets him going.

A former HR ExTeam member, David is always making new friends, walking in and out of org rooms, talking animatedly with people and throwing jokes here and there. For leading a cluster that aims for a proactive social advocacy and direct involvement, David’s personality and passion make him just right for the job. “Gagawin kong Bisyo ang serBisyo para sa SBC at sa COA!”

Angela An Mari F. Ferrer

Sector-Based Cluster Secretary-Treasurer

Strong-willed and delightfully friendly, An has an almost parallel personality with her SBC partner-in-crime. She loves to joke around and always makes an effort to know the people she works with but knows when to put the game face on.

Using her people skills and her determination, she leaves no stone unturned when discussing an issue and makes sure she comes across when making a point, her enthusiasm for serving fueling her. When asked what she can offer to COA this year, she replied, “Puso, dahil hindi tunay ang paglilingkod kung wala nito.”
